Therapy
As an Occupational Therapist, Roxanne helps people participate in the things they want and need to do. Roxanne believes strongly that the primary occupation of a child is to play. Therefore her therapeutic approach is fun, child-centered, and teaches functional play skills. When working with adolescents and adults, she collaborates with the client to set meaningful goals and build on the client’s intrinsic motivation. Therapy sessions with Roxanne are goal oriented towards achieving developmental gains in many areas including sensory processing, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and self care. The therapy approach is individualized for each person. She treats client’s using a strength-based approach, building on the child’s interests.
Roxanne enhances the performance and participation of toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities to participate more fully in play, school, home, and in the community. She also works with children recovering from injuries or illness to regain skills. Roxanne’s aim is always to increase confidence, joyful participation in daily activities, and to achieve developmental gains.
